Deal Castle
One of the earliest and most elaborate of Henry VIII’s coastal forts built when invasion from the Catholic Europe was feared. It guarded a sheltered anchorage between the shore and the Goodwin Sands known as a graveyard for shipping.
Canterbury Cathedral
A UNESCO World Heritage Site made up of the Cathedral founded in 597 AD, St. Augustine’s Abbey and St. Martin’s Church, the oldest parish church in England still in regular use. Fresh fruit abounds with apples, pears, plums, cherries and damsons all grown in the county.
