Projects: Inclusion in Action
Find out about the varied work that EH does to engage many different and diverse communities with heritage. You can read case studies of some of the wonderful projects that have created strong links between EH and new audiences, allowing us to share our love of the historic environment with many who may have felt excluded from it, and also for us to learn a great deal from the people we have worked with.
Also in this section you can read about the work of the Social Inclusion policy team, and the wide variety of exhibitions and events that EH hopes will provide an educational and fun day out for all the family
The Outreach Department works with local communities on creative projects which encourage a greater understanding of England’s diverse histories, and help to build strong communities through promoting sense of place and identity. Projects range from community archaeology digs to creating local heritage gardens, from arts projects exploring issues around heritage and regeneration to collecting oral histories.
English Heritage is the national leader in heritage education. We aim to help teachers and those involved in education at all levels to use the historic environment as a resource, right across the curriculum.
With the largest historical events programme in Europe, English Heritage offers something for everyone - from great family days out with the children to events of interest to the real history buff. Why not have a look at our events search to see what’s coming up in the next few months.
