Their work includes:
- Developing the historic fabric of the garden and landscape in liaison with other in-house experts, conservation and management plans
- Maintaining the garden and landscape to a high standard using dedicated in-house garden staff and contractors
- Training students and apprentices in both technical and management aspects of Horticulture
- Liasing with other English Heritage staff to develop the sites interpretation and visitor facilities
- Giving talks and demonstrations to visitors and other members of the public, on garden and landscape aspects of their site
