The Castle

Suggested time needed: One hour walk to the castle through the gardens, 30 minutes at castle, 30 minutes walk back to Hall.
Take a walk through the garden to visit the castle, the original home of the Middleton family. Its first-floor great chamber still displays rare traces of elaborate medieval wall-paintings.

The Hall

Belsay Hall, now displayed without furnishings, is an austerely Classical Greek Revival villa, centred around the amazing central two-storey ‘Pillar Hall.’
