2008 Highlights
Roaring fighter planes, raiding paratroopers, bloody gladitorial combats, hair-raising Roman horse riding and chariot races, a charming English Victorian seaside, a knights' jousting tournament, a WW1 trench complete with tank and Victorian gymkhana were some of the highlights at this year’s Festival of History as nearly 20,000 people visited the show over the weekend.
Dramatic events from the past 2,000 years were featured including living history displays and re-enactments of key battles from the past.
Keith Parry from Crowthorne said “My kids enjoyed the Festival so much that my daughter cried when I told them we had to leave after the final parade. It really is a great day out for the whole family”.
The Festival will make a welcomed return to Kelmarsh Hall in 2009. Keep on eye on this website for news, dates and information.
