Why We Need Your Help

 English Heritage exists to ensure that people, wherever they live and whatever their background, enjoy, understand and value England's rich and diverse history.

From concerts, exhibitions and events to regeneration and literacy programmes, our activities stretch to the built environment in streets in every town and city across the country.

Your donations have helped us in our mission to reach out both to:

People of today - encouraging people to enjoy, understand, learn from and appreciate England’s historic environment, and to;
Future generations - ensuring that people can enjoy England’s historic environment, through preserving our properties, and by providing advice, guidance and financial assistance to property owners.

Just under a quarter of our funds come from income generated through fundraising, membership and other activities. Many of our plans will have a significant impact on the communities in which they will take place, and all of them will benefit the heritage as a whole.

Increasingly, we depend upon voluntary income in order to achieve our objectives.

We are seeking to raise more funds to ensure future generations will always have the opportunity to discover and appreciate the best of the past.

Without your help, and the help of the Development Fund, we would not be able to achieve our aim of ensuring that the best of the past is protected so that future generations will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy it.
