We can provide advice on most aspects of environmental archaeology and general palaeoenvironmental issues to the sector (including commercial units, voluntry groups and university departments). Our work covers analysis of material from the Quaternary period (approximately the last two million years). However, the majority of our work is on projects which range from the Mesolithic to the present (approximately the last 11000 years).

Project work and research is undertaken by Environmental Studies staff on English Heritage-funded projects. For Environmental Studies staff, involvement in non-English Heritage projects is possible by agreement with the appropriate Inspector of Ancient Monuments.

The Regional Science Advisors should be consulted in the first instance regarding PPG16 projects.
